TAN SRI MUHAMMAD IKMAL OPAT ABDULLAH
GROUP EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Muhammad Ikmal Opat Abdullah is the founder, Group Executive Chairman and group leader of Widad Business Group (WBG), a corporate holding which provides jobs to more than 1,500 employees throughout Malaysia. With his entrepreneurism, Ikmal Opat played a pivotal role in the expansion of the Widad Group which now includes
Institution of Higher Learning i.e. Widad University College & Widad College. The other key business segments are integrated facility management,construction, property development, hotels, publication & media, aquaculture and engineering consultancy.
Hailing from Kedah, Ikmal Opat graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication).As the Founder & Group Executive Chairman of WBG, Ikmal Opat successfully spearheaded the company to a new level of growth and development. Under his stewardship, WBG has won numerous recognitions including being awarded as the Best Facility Management Award 2014 & 2016 (Building Category) at the national level and Grade (A) High Level Achievement Contractor (KBBT) by Ministry of Works in December 2015.
The company was also conferred with the usage of the word Royal by His Majesty the XIV King of Malaysia to all WBG’s business entities namely Royal Widad Hotel, Royal Widad Specialist Center, Royal Widad Tourism Center and Yayasan Royal Widad.
Apart from that, Ikmal Opat has been actively involved in the country social and welfare activities. In this aspect, he directly and indirectly involves in various activities with several NGOs and voluntary such as Yayasan Kemiskinan Kedah (YAKED), Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Sultanah Haminah (YAYSH),Yayasan Sultan Kelantan Darul Naim and Kelab Putera Umno Malaysia to name a few.His passion in helping those in need has translated into a social enterprise TV program called ‘Kembara Widad’ which aired on RTM TV1. In this program, the qualified zakat recipients will be given assistance in the form of business advice and equipments to support their business ventures.
Ikmal Opat Abdullah who was once an army officer in Malaysia Armed Forces, had proven that his excellent achievement is not only centered around commercial elements but rather a greater emphasis are also given to support the government aspiration in producing as many excellent Bumiputera entrepreneurs as possible. His perseverance towards staff up skilling and lifelong learning contributes to a greater success of the Group.
Under the leadership and stewardship of Ikmal Opat, Widad Business Group continue to grow and have received many accolades and achievements from the Government such as the Four Star Rating Standard by CIDB, High Performance Bumiputera Contractor and High Performance Bumiputera Company.
Widad Group was also appointed by TERAJU and CIDB as Centre of Excellence (CEO) to develop human capital in facility maintenance services sector, besides providing training for professional graduates in facility maintenance since 2013. At personal level, Ikmal Opat was awarded The Most Eminent Brand Icon Leadership Award by Asia Pacific Brand Foundation “The BrandLaureate” in 2016.
DATO’ SHAHARUDIN MOHD SA’AD
DIRECTOR
With over 26 years of experience in a prestigious bank in Malaysia, Dato’ Shaharudin Bin Mohd Sa’ad, an MBA and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting holder from The
National University of Malaysia, is personable and proficient with powerful leadership skills.
A Certifed Integrity Offcer (CeIO) under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, he is skilled, passionate and responsible in instilling integrity and ethical values within his organizations with zero tolerance towards fraud, corruption and abuse of power.
Combining his experience in International Internal Audit and as a Chartered Accountant plus his entrepreneurial drive and his business management skills, Dato’ Shaharudin has a demonstrated track record of developing and executing business plans integral to the company from end to end.
He is able to work well in both leading and within a team, with dedication to a collaborative approach, yet able to make tough calls independently when needed.
Currently as the Chairman in the ANGKASA audit committee, he invests his time, effort and talent in controlling and overseeing high profile programs as well as being an expert in creating and maintaining relationships with shareholders and clients.
Also, as a leader in multiple Cooperative bodies for more than 15 years, he juggles with balancing multiple deadlines, while maintaining an organized, yet creative, approach. Even under pressure, he is poised and professional, with an ability to transcend personal differences in order to reach a common goal.
ISYRAF WIDAD BIN MUHAMMAD IKMAL OPAT
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Isyraf Widad holds an MSc in Accounting and Finance and a BSc in Accounting and Finance at BPP University (London) and Lancaster University respectively. In his role as a director in Wardah Communications Sdn. Bhd.
Isyraf supports the Chairman’s once in developing and tracking the company’s corporate-level strategic priorities and partnerships.
He also partners up with leaders of various business units to formulate and execute new strategies, then leads the development and implementation of strategic objectives and processes of said businesses. On top of that, Isyraf is engaged in sensitive, high-value business development activities.
